Drivers are advised that Blueprint 2000 will temporarily close
Shumard Oak Boulevard this weekend

On Saturday, April 22 and Sunday April 23, Shumard Oak Boulevard will be temporarily
closed for roadway construction. During the intersection closure, no pass-through traffic will
be allowed onto Capital Circle via Shumard Oak Boulevard. Traffic from Shumard Oak
Boulevard will be detoured to Capital Circle via Esplanade Way and Merchants Row Boulevard.

During the next two weeks, workers will continue to place base material and asphalt from
Tram Road to Merchants Row. Additionally, crews will continue earthwork and installation of
storm drainage pipes from Merchants Row to Barcelona Lane on the east side of the
roadway. This work will be conducted away from the roadway and is not expected to impact
traffic. However, motorists should be alert for construction vehicles entering and exiting the
roadway from the construction zone.

Construction of the $36 million project began in May 2005 and is scheduled for completion in
early 2008. However, weather or other unforeseen circumstances may affect construction
schedules. Find details on this project and other Blueprint 2000 projects at
